Dear friends,
‘For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.’ 1 Corinthians 1.18.
On Sunday mornings in church we are being reminded of the centrality of the spoken message of the cross. It should be the heartbeat of every local church. The ancient Corinthian church had forgotten to prioritise the gospel and instead had become fixated on worldly wisdom and spiritual gifts. Paul encourages them to find true spiritual wisdom in the good news of the cross of Christ, which is God’s power to save. I believe it is useful at this time for us to reflect individually and corporately as a church on the cross and on all that Jesus has done for us.
As we wait for news of restrictions being lifted for churches we continue with online ministries. I have listed the main ones for this week below. I hope you will be able to join us as we continue to prioritise God’s Word during lockdown.
