On June 26th Bishop Harold Miller instituted Rev Bill Press as Rector of Knockbreda Parish. The address was given by Rev Eddie Coulter who is an old friend of Bill’s and who, like Bill, is a past curate of Knockbreda Parish under our former Rector and Archdeacon of Down, Ven Philip Patterson.
Bill was previously Rector of Kilhorne Church, Annalong where he served for 9 very happy years. He was ordained by Bishop Harold in 1999 and has spent all of his ministry to date in Down and Dromore. Prior to ordination, Bill worked in industry as an electrical and electronic engineer.
Bill’s priorities in ministry include expository Bible teaching and preaching, pastoral care of the vulnerable, and evangelism, especially among young people.
Speaking about returning to Knockbreda, Bill said: “Claire and I are very excited at the prospect of ministering again in Knockbreda. We look forward to building on the faithful work of our friend the late Philip Patterson. As a family we are very grateful for the prayers of so many – both in Knockreda and Annalong.” (From Down & Dromore website)
We welcome Bill, Claire, Sam, Cara & Mark and look forward to getting to know them and enjoying fellowship with them.
